Ping G425 LST Driver

The PING G410 LST driver was one of the most played drivers on the USPGA over the last two years and was the #1 choice at many of the year’s biggest golf tournaments. When the best players in the world all gravitate to a certain driver, you can be sure that it is a club that it offers explosive ballspeeds, coupled with low spin rates and superb all-round performance. 

The new all black livery of the PING G425 is absolutely stunning and it is hard to imagine there is a golfer anywhere that doesn’t like the way this driver looks. The G425 LST has a smaller 445cc profile than both the Max and SFT versions but it certainly doesn’t look small when placed behind the ball at address.  

The Dragonfly Crown that PING aficionados have become so familiar with has been improved, allowing weight to be saved and used more effectively elsewhere in the head. The Turbulators bring a touch of meanness to the aesthetics when behind the ball and gives the feeling that the ball is going to be sent a long way down the fairway. They aren’t just for show though, with clubhead drag being reduced and swing speeds increased as a result. 

If you a looking to hit low spinning bombs, then the PING G425 LST is the club that will help you do it. Offering an average of 200rpm spin less than the G410 LST and some 600rpm less spin than the G425 Max, this driver will prove to be one of the longest hitting drivers of all time providing you can get the initial launch high enough. There are both 9-degree and 10.5degree heads available, each allowing the loft to be adjusted +/- 1-degree or +/-1.5-degrees meaning there is plenty of scope to get the launch optimised for your game. 

The acoustics have also been improved with the use of an internal rib structure giving the G425 driver an extremely solid feel and pleasing sound when a shot is struck. PING’s T9S+ Forged face provides explosive ball speeds through its face flexing technology ensuring that this driver is as long as anything available on the market. 

The LST version of the 425 driver sees the use of slightly lighter adjustable weights ensuring that the CG remains far enough forward to keep the spin down. The 17g weights still provide a huge amount of ball flight change between each position and will allow golfers to promote or eliminate any shot shape. All PING golf clubs now come with the superb Arrcos system embedded into the grips as standard, allowing you to track your stats and performance when on the course. 

Stock shaft offerings are excellent with the ever-popular Alta remaining in the range along with the stronger PING tour 65/75 shaft. The Superb Tensei AV Raw Orange shaft is another great fit for this driver as is the Aldila Rogue White.
