The PING G425 Max driver is the most versatile of the three new drivers in the range and will find its way into the bags of golfers of all skill levels. The G410 Plus was a superb looking golf club but the G425 is has taken the aesthetics to another level. Behind the golf ball the G425 Max belies is 460cc size and looks positively huge at address. Even the most erratic of drivers will feel their confidence building as they step onto the tee with this beast.
PING have brought full stealth mode to the paintwork of the G425 Max and it's all Black finish is guaranteed to be a crowd pleaser. It sits beautifully square at address and, when in the neutral position, makes you feel like you can hit whatever shape is required. PING’s instantly recognisable Turbulators once again adorn the crown of the club and this serves to reduce drag and increase clubhead speeds.
The adjustable weighting system from previous models has been improved through the use of larger 26-gram weights; made possible through weight saved in the improved Dragonfly crown technology. The same three settings are offered; heel, centre and toe, but it has been done over a much smaller area so as not to impact performance in other areas in the clubhead. Whatever shape you want to promote or eliminate from your game, the G425 MAX will help you achieve it.
PING have long been thought of as the most forgiving of all the drivers and yet somehow, they have managed to take this a step further again. The M.O.I (resistance to twisting) has been increased by 14% across all three weight positions on the head which will allow for some excellent results on shots that have been struck some way off centre.
The acoustics have also been improved with the use of an internal rib structure giving the G425 driver an extremely solid feel and pleasing sound when a shot is struck. PING’s T9S+ Forged face provides explosive ball speeds through its face flexing technology ensuring that this driver is as long as anything available on the market. PING golf clubs now come with the Arrcos shot tracking system embedded into the grip, perfect for the golfer that like to keep track of their on-course performance and statistics
The adjustable hosel allows for loft changes of +/- 1 or +/- 1.5 both up or down and allows you to really dial in your ideal ball flight. There are also three flat settings which are perfect for the shorter golfer or for someone that fights a hook. A torque wrench is included with the club and altering the loft and weight positions with it only takes a matter of seconds.
The stock shaft options are excellent. The standard PING Alta remains and this popular shaft is likely to suit most golfers. There is a new ultra-lightweight PING Distanza 40-gram shaft which will be a perfect fit for senior golfers and those with a slower swing. There are also premium offerings that are available without any upcharge including the PING Tour 65/75, the superb Tensei AV Raw Orange and the tour proven Aldila Rogue White.
